From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The entire team (and the two dogs 😉) went above and beyond to make our stay special. Everyone was incredibly kind, proactive, and always happy to help with any questions.
A special thank you to Vimukthi, the manager, who answered all our questions with great patience. From him, we learned a lot about the Sri Lankan and Buddhist culture and he also took his time to show us the Samadhi centre and the beautiful area around it (rice fields, harvesting and drinking fresh coconut, waterfall). Vimukthi also helped us figuring out our upcoming travel plans and gave us great recommendations. He always made sure that we feel comfortable, safe and happy and every detail of our stay was taken care of.
We also highly appreciated the warm hearted Shanika, whose professionalism, and expertise as both a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic doctor made the experience even more meaningful.
The retreat itself is surrounded by beautiful nature, creating an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. One of the highlights was being invited to join a local Buddhist festival and parade, which gave us an unforgettable insight into Sri Lankan culture. We also loved the traditional Ayurvedic treatments and massages, which were excellent (make yourself ready for a lot of oil 😃).
The food was fresh, authentic, regional, and absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the cooking class, where we learned how to prepare traditional dishes.
We also had the pleasure of visiting the owner's antique shop in Kandy. He welcomed us with great kindness and generosity, and it was inspiring to meet someone with such a unique personality and genuine passion for Sri Lankan culture, art and history.
Thank you to the entire team for your exceptional hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a truly authentic, relaxing, and memorable experience in Sri Lanka.
This was an Ayurvedic retreat surrounded by nature, with cats and dogs, and a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff were extremely kind and attentive, and I also loved the beautiful vintage furniture in the room.
Although it is located far from the city, it became the most memorable experience of my trip to Sri Lanka.
For those who want to escape the noise and stress of city life, I highly recommend staying here at least once.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so because I truly hope this place continues to thrive.

This is our second time visit to Samadhi Centre Kandy, this place is heaven if there’s such a place.
It’s a wonderful, beautiful and serene place.
We went there looking for nature and just to relaxation. This place provided the full package.
We undertook the Ayurveda treatment for 7 days. We loved our twice daily treatment.
The food we ate was absolutely amazing and authentic. They use vegetables growing in the garden. The local Goat milk and Curd was exceptional.
The staff at Samadhi are all professional and extremely friendly. One of the staff member Vimukthi, took us around the villages and explained to us the history of the area.
The owner of the Samadhi centre, Mr Waruna made us feel absolutely welcome and special.
For sure we’re going to visit this place again.
So glad I stumbled upon the Samadhi centre, I had such a memorable stay there. A labyrinth of curiosities nestled into the jungle, with beautiful yoga sessions on offer (I did mine with Shanika), and excellent Ayurvedic treatments. The food is delicious, nutritious and plentiful and the surroundings are special.
Vimukthi who looks after the place, and the guests impeccably took time to show me around and explain the local wildlife and landscape. He took me on a village tour where I met a local family and was given a coconut and a local speciality drink. It was an authentic experience that I don’t think I could have got elsewhere. Vimukthi is a thoughtful and well informed guide. Thanks to the whole team for the memories :)
My partner and I spent three nights at Samadhi and had a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully immersed in nature, close to a river and several waterfalls, creating a peaceful atmosphere accompanied by the relaxing sound of flowing water.
The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, enriched with fresh herbs grown directly in Samadhi’s own garden. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help.
A special mention goes to Vimukthi, who greatly enhanced our stay. Beyond his attentive support at the hotel, he shared insightful explanations about local culture, traditions, and daily life. He also guided us to nearby waterfalls, providing context and stories that helped us better understand the area.
We definitely recommend a visit here!
