I had a truly heartwarming and amazing experience at ShazzHennaArts. I requested 2 different henna tattoos. Normal henna ( red) and Jagua henna (black). Both were fabulous and I was truly over the moon with the results. I was expertly advised on what would work best and where. I asked for a large dragon for my spine and the other was a floral design wrapping around my whole arm. It was her first time doing this dragon design ( which she designed herself). She sent via WhatsApp a few of her own designs for me to consider. I discussed my ideas and agreed on one with her. Then, I confirmed the cost before proceeding. Very reasonably priced. On reflection, I forgot to ask how long the Henna would take. I hadn’t considered this at all! Do please ask when you book and I would advise having it done in the morning. Then, you will have time to let it ‘cure’ and wash the residue off before you go out for the evening or, an afternoon swim. I was also lucky to meet her 2 lovely sons, Imaan aged 7 and 11 year old Amaan. Imaan absolutely loves colouring and drawing any motor vehicle. He showed me all his little toy vehicles. His favourite car is a Lamborghini! The boys were a delight to get to know. While I waited for the Henna to dry I was offered a cup of Ginger tea. I hadn’t even thought of bringing a drink with me! 🫣 I am extremely pleased with the finished result and would highly recommend that you book a visit. The dragon, understandably, took 2-3 hours, being so large. I have had numerous compliments on both designs, but, especially the dragon. Including from the Sri Lankan air crew! They loved it. My family has named the dragon, Bob! Just a word of warning- while it ‘cures’ ( around 4 hrs for the dragon, less time for the jagua henna design), don’t lean back on any furnishings and hold on to the front rails of your Tuck Tuck!! Especially, if the driver is overly enthusiastic fighting through the busy traffic. I accidentally smudged a small section on my arm when the driver surprised me with a sharp right turn! 😂. Oh, and do ensure you set up the location on your sat nav and/or your drivers’, just in case he isn’t quite sure where it is in Galle. The property isn’t clearly sign posted. However, there is absolutely no need to worry. Just ask anyone who is on the small lane. They all know where it is. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. My TukTuk driver followed an elderly man who cycled us to the place. He wanted to be sure we successfully arrived with no further hiccups. I’ve added the afternoon as one of my most heartwarming memories of Sri Lanka. I hope, when you go for your Henna, you enjoy it as much as I did.
