The Calm Resort & Spa

So happy with choosing The Calm for our relaxing stay in Passikudah. Beautiful hotel, spacious room and grounds. The location is beach front, beach is fairly private and very clean / well maintained. The swimming pool was wonderful, good size and loved the layout. Only suggestion is improving ordering drinks whilst poolside. Food - breakfast buffet was excellent, we also did a dinner buffet but I actually would next time choose a la carte instead. Thanks Shalitha & Dammika Tennakoon and the wonderful restaurant staff. Highly attentive, great service and all so friendly. It exceeded expectations, would love to have stayed longer. Stunning place to chill. Check in / check out smooth & efficient. The smoke blessing for safe travels was a lovely touch upon departure.

Our group of 8 had a fantastic 2-night stay at The Calm Resort & Spa. True to its name, the property offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, with beautifully maintained grounds that make for a very pleasant getaway. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help, which greatly enhanced our experience. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes available at every meal. Breakfast was particularly memorable, with guests eagerly lining up for the freshly made hoppers on both mornings—a testament to how popular and delicious they were. The beachfront location is another highlight. The calm beach provided the perfect setting to watch the sunrise, and we thoroughly enjoyed long walks along the shoreline, which stretches for more than 4 kilometers. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, featuring very large bathrooms and all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. Everything was well maintained and contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at The Calm Resort & Spa. With its excellent food, spacious accommodations, beautiful beach, and outstanding hospitality, it is a property we would gladly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal retreat.

The resort location is spectacular. Right on a white sand beach with ample beach chairs shaded by palms and umbrellas. The beach side bar is open air and comfortable. The rooms are good sizes but in need of updates. The A/C unit in my room initially struggled to keep up with the summer heat but facilities quickly addressed the issue once alerted.

What a wonderfully peaceful stay! The hotel service was smooth and welcoming, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing. The food was outstanding—huge thanks to the talented chefs and the restaurant staff for their amazing service and warm hospitality. Every meal was a delight! A very special thank you to Mr. Prasad and Mr. Punchibandara for their dedication and care. The beach and garden were kept beautifully clean, creating such a calm and refreshing environment. The quiet beach truly made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable getaway!
