Gishan was recommended to me by a friend and I can say without a doubt it was the best massage I’ve ever had. My mum and I had the 90 minute Pain Relief Massages and a day or two after the massage, we were both feeling more free and our back and neck tension was gone. Gishan is highly experienced and found knots and tension without us having to explain. We’d highly recommend Gishan if you’re in the Ella area. Plus the location has a stunning view!

Wow!!! I had a truly special massage experience in Ella with Gishan, who runs his own one-man business. You can immediately feel that massage is his true calling — he seems born to do this work. He has a special gift and an incredible sensitivity; it felt like he could sense everything happening in my body. He is as well so lovely & caring. When I told him about my digestive issue. He directly helped me in different ways. The massage itself was unique and felt like a journey through all five senses.✨ *Through touch, of course, the massage was deeply relaxing and intuitive. *Through sight, the atmosphere was beautiful, with a stunning view into the surrounding  nature. *Through smell, the wonderfully fragrant massage oils created a calming and luxurious feeling. *Through hearing, he played different types of music that were deeply relaxing for the body and even adjusted the music depending on which part of the body he was working on. This was something very special that I had never experienced during a massage before. *Through taste, he later served me a delicious tea and a small sweet treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The whole experience felt mindful, peaceful, and truly unique. You can feel the passion and care he puts into his work. I already booked another massage for tomorrow and I extend my stay in Ella. I reached Gishan’s spa completely broken, I hiked Sri Pada the day before and I couldn’t walk I was so sore. Within 2 days he had helped me to walk freely again! Don’t bother going to the places in the town they are just after your money, at Universal Wellness you will be shown the utmost care and professionalism, as a woman I felt completely safe and well respected. In the end I went many times during my stay in Ella! I’ve travelled all over the world and had massages in probably over 40 countries and the deep tissue massage I received from Gishan was the best I’ve ever had. I had the best massage experience of my life with Gishan! We booked a spontaneous appointment and were honestly blown away from start to finish. The facilities were spotless and beautifully maintained, which immediately put us at ease. The entire space had such a calming, peaceful atmosphere—it felt like stepping into a different world. The therapist was incredibly professional and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. The massage itself was deeply relaxing, exactly what I needed, and easily the most rejuvenating I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a place that combines cleanliness, professionalism, and pure relaxation, this is it. I’ll definitely be coming back if I am back in Ella.

Best massage ever! Gishan is an absolute master; he doesn't just massage, he really works with the body, finding and releasing every tension. It was simply wonderful, please try it! There is also a very cosy area where you can wait with a delicious ayurvedic tea and read something. His spa is within walking distance of the Nine Arch Bridge, but he also offers a free tuk-tuk service to pick you up and bring you back. We tried other massages in Sri Lanka and also in Ella, some of which have over 2000 good reviews, but unfortunately we were disappointed. Here, we are hooked and would love to stay an extra night just to have another massage from Gishan, so be sure to go there if you are in Ella looking for a real professional massage from someone who is truly trained in it.
