Dhamma Anuradha Vipassana Meditation Centre

Did my second 10 day sitting course there and after 10 day service. The center is really simple yet really welcoming environment surrounded by jungle and sounds of animals, this place gave me a great stay and stillness to work within. Would recommend it. You also have the opportunity to meditate with monks and nuns.

This is so peaceful and calm place of Dhamma. We had everyday delicious Sri Lankan rice and curry and fruit juices. Rooms are small but you have everything you need. This time we sat the course with Buddhist monks and nuns, this was inspirational. Grateful for this opportunity.

It’s full of animals this place. In the rooms you have mosquitoes, frogs, spiders and other small insects. And during meditation there are always animal sounds (monkeys, peacocks, birds etc). But I had a very good experience because the place is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. You see they do their best

Vipassana Center Review It was my first Vipassana course, and the experience was truly transformative. Every day was a challenge, but by the end of the course, I felt a deep sense of calm and clarity. One of the most significant changes was that I finally started sleeping without pills, and my persistent morning headaches disappeared. The center itself is located in a beautiful jungle setting, where you can see peacocks, squirrels, and immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of nature. The accommodation is simple yet well-maintained and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The food, prepared with local Sri Lankan flavors, was both nourishing and delicious. I am incredibly grateful for everything I learned and practiced during this time. The course was not easy, but the benefits I gained were absolutely worth it.

It has been the perfect place to grow in equanimity, To grow in wisdom, and to allow the natural falling away of attachment. Another step on the path has been walked in coming here. The centre has everything that a Vipassana centre needs, there are many single room kutis, as well as a dormitory. The meditation hall is very big and can hold around a hundred people. Mosquitos are coming early morning and evening times. The centre was built by two monks who reside there. I witnessed alot of change while being there for some months, towards the end they set up CCTV in most of the dining, kitchen, reception areas. I also saw many times animal abuse on the grounds, by the sinhala workers and monk. it is a common and normal practice in Sri Lanka as I can see.
